Shop sarees for Indian weddings and wedding guest events, including the main ceremony, mehendi, sangeet, cocktail parties and receptions. The collection includes satin, satin silk, tissue, chinon silk, crepe satin silk and other styles with sequins, thread embroidery, pearl, stone, zari, mirror and applique work. Each saree comes with a stitched blouse, fall and pico already done, and a free petticoat. Stitched blouse sizing is available up to size 44. Choose by event, fabric, color, work level, neckline and sleeve style, then check each product for its exact blouse design and details.
How to Choose a Saree for an Indian Wedding
Start with the event, time of day and how long you expect to wear the saree. A wedding guest saree does not need to be the heaviest design available. The better choice is one that fits the formality of the function and is comfortable enough for sitting, walking, eating and dancing. If the couple or family has given a dress code or requested colors, follow that first.
Mehendi and Haldi
For daytime mehendi (mehndi) or haldi events, lighter-looking sarees and less heavy surface work are usually easier to carry for several hours. Softer, brighter or festive colors can work well, but there is no single color rule that applies to every family or wedding. Check the invitation when a specific palette has been requested.
Sangeet and Cocktail Events
Sangeet and cocktail party events usually allow more shine and decorative work. Sarees with sequins, pearl work, mirror details, stones or embroidery can suit evening lighting and a more dressed-up setting. If you plan to dance, also consider the weight of the saree and how confidently you can manage the drape throughout the event.
Main Wedding Ceremony
For the main ceremony, georgette fabrics, zari details and thread embroidery can give a more traditional look without requiring bridal-level work. The amount of embellishment should match your role at the wedding and the formality of the event. Guests can look festive without trying to copy a bridal saree.
Reception
For receptions, satin, satin silk, tissue and sarees with sequins, pearls, stones or other reflective work can suit an evening setting. A smoother fabric with visible handwork can look dressed up without needing the saree to be extremely heavy.
Choose Fabric and Work Based on Comfort and Formality
Fabric changes how a saree drapes, moves and feels over a long event. Current styles in this collection include satin, satin silk, tissue, chinon silk, crepe satin silk, slub silk and Banarasi crush silk. Available work varies by design and can include sequins, thread embroidery, pearls, stones, zari, mirror work, applique, beads and jacquard details.
Do not judge a saree only by how much work it has. A heavily embellished design may suit an evening reception, while a cleaner saree can be easier for a daytime function or a guest who prefers a simpler look. Check both the base fabric and the work shown on the product page before deciding.
Choose Color for the Event, Not by a Universal Rule
Color advice for Indian weddings is often presented too rigidly. In practice, what is appropriate can vary by family, region, ceremony and the couple’s own dress code. Daytime events often work well with softer, brighter or lighter-looking colors, while deeper shades and more reflective finishes can suit evening functions. Treat those as styling ideas, not fixed rules.
If the invitation gives a requested palette, follow it. When there is no guidance, choose a color that fits the event and the amount of work on the saree. A heavily embellished saree in a softer shade can still look formal, while a simpler saree in a deeper color can work well for an evening guest look.
Stitched Blouse, Size, Neckline and Sleeve Options
Our saree comes with a stitched blouse, with blouse sizing available up to size 44. Blouse length is approximately 15 inches. Blouse design varies by product, so use the collection filters and product photos to choose the style you prefer.
Across the collection, front neckline options may include round, U, V, sweetheart, collar, pentagon, boat, halter, closed and high necklines. These are design options available across different blouses; the neckline of a specific blouse cannot be changed.
Sleeve styles may include full sleeve, three-quarter sleeve, half sleeve and sleeveless. If a blouse already has sleeves and you prefer a shorter sleeve or sleeveless look, we can shorten the sleeve length or remove the sleeves.
What Comes Ready and What Still Needs Draping?
The blouse arrives stitched, the saree has fall and pico already completed, and a petticoat is included free. That removes several preparation steps that shoppers otherwise may need to arrange after receiving a saree.
The saree itself is still a traditional drape and must be wrapped and pleated around the body. It is not a pre-draped, pre-pleated or “one-minute saree.” If you specifically want a saree that can be worn like a skirt without normal draping, this collection should not be treated as a ready-to-wear saree collection.
Choosing a Wedding Guest Outfit When You Do Not Want to Drape a Saree
A saree works well when you like the flexibility and traditional look of a drape, but it is not the easiest option for everyone specially if you don't know how to drape the saree. If you prefer a more fixed outfit, browse our lehengas for wedding guests, salwar kameez for women or Anarkali dresses for women. These give you different silhouettes without requiring a traditional saree drape.
If you are still deciding which type of outfit fits the invitation, you can also browse our broader Indian wedding guest outfits collection to compare sarees with other traditional options in one place.
